A new poll suggests that Americans are growing increasingly disenchanted with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex’s approval rating has fallen by three points in just a month to -10, while his wife Meghan’s rating has dropped to -17. This is reportedly due in part to the recent South Park episode, which mercilessly mocked the couple.
The poll, conducted by Redfield & Wilton for Newsweek on February 19, found that the couple’s popularity has plummeted to an all-time low in the US. In fact, they are now less popular than the disgraced Prince Andrew, with Harry sinking 48 points and Meghan dropping 40 since December.
Interestingly, while Andrew remains a controversial figure, with many Americans having an unfavorable view of him, 32 percent of respondents had a “neither favorable nor unfavorable” view of him. Another 13 percent answered “don’t know,” indicating that he may be a less polarizing figure than Harry and Meghan.
It’s clear that the Sussexes’ popularity is on the decline in the US, and this may be a cause for concern for the couple as they continue to build their new life in California. Despite their high-profile moves in recent months, such as signing lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify, it seems that their star power is waning in the eyes of the American public.
