Prince Harry has opened up about how the Royal Family was once compared to “expensive” animals by an author in his memoir ‘Spare’.
The Duke of Sussex, who did not mention the name of the writer, reveals how the family was referred to as “pandas” due to their lavish lifestyle.
He notes that although the family doesn’t have the breeding difficulties that pandas face, they are still expensive to maintain and are ill-adapted to modern times. “This panda crack always struck me as both acutely perceptive and uniquely barbarous,” Harry writes.
The memoir has caused controversy, as it touches on several sensitive topics involving the Royal Family, including his mother’s death and his decision to step back from royal duties.
